Amalfi & Sorrento

Amalfi – Amalfi is a city in a striking natural environment under the steep cliffs on the south-west coast of Italy. Between the ninth and eleventh centuries, it was the seat of a powerful maritime republic. In the heart of the city, the “Cathedral of Sant’Andrea”, of the Arab-Norman era, is characterized by a striped Byzantine facade. The “Museo Arsenale di Amalfi” is a medieval construction site, now an exhibition space.

Sorrento – Sorrento is a coastal town on the Sorrento Peninsula, located in front of the bay of Naples, in the south-western part of Italy. Built on the cliff that separates it from its crowded port, Sorrento is famous for its panoramic view of the sea and Piazza Tasso, dotted with coffee. The historic center is a maze of narrow streets where the church of San Francesco is located, a 14th century building with a tranquil cloister.

After visiting Amalfi, we will continue along the “Costiera Amalfitana”, pass by Positano, and arrive in Sorrento,where you will see the “Duomo” and the “Chiostro di San Francesco”.

The Rome – Sorrento – Amalfi tour departs at 07:00 from the Hotel and the driver will drop you off in the historical city center and pick you up at the same place at 17:30 for the return journey to Rome.

An excursion to “Pompei” can be arranged for an extra cost. The Sorrento -Pompei excursion departs from Sorrento at 13:00 and the driver will pick ou up in the square in front the Pier. The departure time from Pompri for the return journey to Rome is at 17:30.

The cost of our tours does not include entrance fees to museums or lunches. Any extras will be calculated separately.
We suggest that you wear appropriate attire, confortable shoes, sun glasses and sun hats in summer months.

Please note that it is not permitted to enter into churches, basilicas and cathedrals in shorts, miniskirts or undercover shoulders.
